Intermediate Winona... the place to be!!

Situated along the shorline of Moose Pond, Boys 11-13 learn and grow through supervised activities and friendly competition.

Intermediate is the Winona unit full of opportunity and new experiences! Campers can try a wide range of activities. There are the land sports of soccer, tennis, basketball, lacrosse and baseball. Down at the pond, located right in front of our tent line, are more great water activity choices. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking and sailing are just a few of the many activities campers choose from twice a day. Maybe a less strenuous activity is desired. Try drama, archery, riflery, woodworking (sloyd), ecology or art!

It is hard to imagine even more is available almost every day. But with the great mountain trips and canoe trips, campers head out of camp on excursions everyday. The mountain trippers head for the White mountains of New Hampshire or the Mahoosuc Range in Maine, on trips from one day up to five days duration. The canoe trips have a special place in Inty with Sunday night overnights right on Moose Pond. The longer trips head off for lakes around Maine and New Hampshire on two and three night expeditions. Look at the Trips page for more exciting locations covered by Inty Trippers.

New to Inty in 2003 was mineral collecting. Learn the basics in camp breaking rocks open with hammers and chisels, looking for that lost treasure or hard to find mineral. Then head out on a day trip to one of the nearby rock sites, and join the Rock Hound club!

For those interested in outdoor living, our campcraft program teaches skills needed to excel on trips in Maine and around the world. Campers who really want to focus in this area can participate in the Maine Woodsman program. The MW program involves the testing of one's skills and knowledge relating to the Maine woods.

In Inty, campers has to keep an eye out for Oscar the polar bear totem! As a member of one of four Indian Tribes (Ojibway, Seneca, Delaware or Mohawks) one team has possession of the totem and tries to “show” it to gain points. The other tribes try and catch the totem, so they can plan new and creative showings.

After dinner evening programs are always exciting. The whole unit participates in a great field game like Speedball, or a game in the grove like Stratego. Before lights out campers get another chance to enjoy the refreshing waters of Moose Pond!

Join us for a summer to see how much fun can be had while learning skills that will last a lifetime!
